The Electrical Trade Test Preparation course is for the Trade Test Candidate that would like to attempt a Summative Assessment (Trade Test). This course will ensure that the Candidate is well prepared before attempting a Trade Test. The following training intervention and activities are covered in this course: E l ectrician Installation Electrical Installation, Wiring and Testing, lighting, stove and geyser circuits Installation Testing Visual inspection and testing of a pre-wired installation and writing a report Basic Engineering Hand Skills Use a workshop measuring, hand and power tools in fabricating various metal pieces Energy Meters Wiring testing of Single and Three Phase kWH meter and Load balancing Transformers Calculations, Wiring and testing of Current Transformers (Ct’s) and Potential Transformers(PT’S) Motors Part 1: Panel Wiring Direct On Line(DOL) Single Phase and Three Phase Forward/Reverse Sequence Starting Star/Delta (various) Motor Part 2: Tracing, locating and repairing faults on Motor starter circuits Star/Delta starters (Various) Auto Transformer starters Resistance Starters Two Speed Starters Motor Part 3: Fault finding on prewired Motor starter circuit Single Phase and Three Phase Forward/Reverse Sequence Starting Star/Delta (Various) Star/Delta Forward/Reverse Motor Part 4: Visual Inspection and Testing on motors Single Phase and Three Phase Motors Spring Motor Cable: Termination, Jointing and Testing Pre-wired Stove Switch: Testing and Load Bank calculators Resistor Box: Calculators and determination of the resistor values
