ABOUT THE COURSE

Are you working as an Electrical Assistant or in the electrical field and want to become a Qualified Electrician?All you need is a minimum of 3 years working experience in the electrical field in order to qualify. Our training centre will prepare you for your ARPL and Trade Test.

What is ARPL?

The latest Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning(ARPL) process as prescribed by the Department of Higher Education and Training(DHET) is designed to assist candidates who wish to pursue careers in artisanal trades.

WELDING TRADES - DUTIES

Perform welding from various departments with help of welding torches and arcs. Analyze and identify defective and appropriate equipments and inform supervisors. Administer various components and perform welding of clamps, holding and bolts according to specifications. Manage work with help of manual welding machines and melt metals for various processes. Monitor all welding processes and ensure absence of all specifications to perform detect work Replace new and fabricate parts for dump trucks and trailers. Ensure clean weld joint to obtain smooth look. Maintain disc grinder and performall cleaning and grinding of metals. Operate various manual and automated welding equipments for welding work Analyze speed and length of welding arc for all welding process. Assemble all components with help of power and hand tools.

ELECTRICAL TRADES - DUTIES

Fault finding on various electrical and mechanical systems. Panel assembly and wiring. Work o pneumatics and hydraulic systems. Perform electrical tests on different electrical equipment. Domestic and commercial installations. Wiring of different electrical circuits and motor starters. Identification of various electrical and mechanical components. Single & three phase motor test. Electro-mechanical maintenance on different equipment. Installation of changeover panels. Installation of control cables for automation. Installation of power cables ranging from 16mm2x 4core amoured cable to 240mm2. Installation of exhausts pipes for generator. 3 phase DB installation. Single phase DB installation Motor testing and wiring. Panel wiring and configuration. Domestic installation of PVC and steel conduits.

Scope of work:

Duration of course: 15 days including Preparation, ARPL Exam & Trade Test First week training for ARPL Exam. 10 days preparation for Trade Test Exam 2 days Trade Test Exam Monday to Thursday (08:00 -16:30) Friday (08:00 - 16:00) Lunch Time (12:00 - 13:00) tea time is provided

ELECTRICIAN PREPARATION

The Electrical Trade Test Preparation course is for the Trade Test Candidate that would like to attempt a Summative Assessment (Trade Test). This course will ensure that the Candidate is well prepared before attempting a Trade Test.
